Associate Professor John Gerrard is the Director of Infectious Diseases at the Gold Coast University Hospital in Queensland, Australia.
He has over 30 years’ experience in Clinical Infectious Diseases and outbreak management in Australia, as well as the United Kingdom, West Africa and Japan.
His research interests include emerging infectious diseases and malaria vaccine development. He described the earliest case of AIDS in Australia and even has a human pathogen after him (Heterorhabditis gerrardi).
